The Family Checkup promotes school readiness

A brief, ecological preventive intervention (The Family Check-up) led to increases in parents’ positive behavior support from child ages 2 to 3, which in turn led to increases in children’s language skills and inhibitory control from age 3 to 4, suggesting collateral benefits on children’s school readiness (Lunkenheimer et al., 2008).
