Anna Fuchs, Ph.D.

Anna is a post-doctoral scholar working with Dr. Erika Lunkenheimer at Penn State as of January 2020. Anna earned her PhD in 2017 at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, focusing on transgenerational effects of maternal psychiatric disorder and early life maltreatment. She gained experience in study coordination of both multi-site and longitudinal studies, data analysis as well as coding of parent-child-interactions. She is a trained coder for Child Interactive Behavior (CIB) and Emotional Availability (EA) coding systems. From 2017 to 2020 she worked as a postdoc and deputy head at the Section for Translational Psychobiology in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Heidelberg. In 2019 she completed her 5-year clinical training as a state approved therapist for children and adolescents at the Center for Psychological Psychotherapy in Heidelberg and has extensive experience in working with patients and families in clinical and ambulant settings. Anna has been funded by individual scholarships of the German Academic Exchange Service, the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University and the German Research Foundation. She is now extending her work on the effects of child maltreatment and is particularly interested in physiological data (cortisol, HRV, fNIRS) and bio-behavioral synchrony.
